The most beautiful part of my life was having you.....

Two years ago today..my son Hayden was born. I know all parents say this, but it was the most amazing day of my life. I truly never knew I could have so much love for another human being until I held my son in my arms. Being a mom is the most amazing job in the whole world. It is so wonderful seeing the world through your child's eyes, seeing everything as if it were brand new again. Hayden has taught me so much....to love unconditionally, to find pleasure in the simple things, to slow down and enjoy each moment, to have more patience, to see all the beauty this world holds...as if seeing it for the first time, to remember my childhood innocence, and how special that is. To see the world as a magical place.
So here are some special pictures of my birthday boy, Thankyou Hayden for blessing my life so much! I love you!

Vintage love

Today is vintage love day! I love all things vintage, movies, furniture and of course fashion...There is so much beauty, and amzing craftsmanship in vintage things. Vintage clothes and furniture finds are usually one of a kind. There wasn't many mass produced products, clothes were sewn with care and made to last. Furniture also was made from solid wood, and so beautifully made at that! That is one of the reasons I love vintage. I also love vintage because of the style and grace it usually holds, and the history behind each piece.
In honour of this wonderful day I want to share with you my favorite 1950's movie actress/princess, Grace Kelly. I Love all old Hollywood actresses, but Grace Kelly is by far my favorite. Her name suits her so well because she portrayed all that was graceful and beautiful. I have been so in awe of her, that the hairstyle I chose for my wedding (hair swept up, miniature gardenias placed on the side of my hair) was inspired by a hairstyle I saw her wear. So here are some of my favorite pictures of her. To keeping our lovely history alive!

Home Expressions

There is something so incredibly exciting about decorating a home. Putting pieces, colors, thoughts and feelings into each room, and making it perfectly your own masterpiece. It thrills me to always be on the look out for new and fantastic finds, whether it be brand new, at a thrift store, or a broken coffee table I might find on the side of the road and restore myself. It is so nice being in a house that truly expresses oneself, making the home that your husband comes home to after a long day, the home your children will grow up in, a sanctuary they all want to be in. If I'm able to create such a space, that is my ultimate goal achieved.
To creating sanctuaries!

I truly believe that they read my mind when they created these rooms

Sunday Best

I love Sundays....my husband would probably be surprised at me saying this, because usually at the end of a Sunday day, I'm falling down tired....what with being up at the crack of dawn (well 6:00 to be exact) to get myself as well as my two-year-old ready to leave for church by 8:45, followed by family activities all day, all while chasing after an active two-year-old....But I do love church, the visiting of people, the lessons, the encouragement...but also one of my favorite things about Sundays is the fact that I get to dress on this day like no other day of the week. I absolutely love dressing up....if I could I would dress like a movie star out of 1940's romantic movie, every day of the week. But unfortunately I can't wear my high waisted pencil skirt, my blue cardigan with the white embroidered flowers, and my cute red peep toed pumps, while chasing a two year old around in circles, giving baths and changing diapers everyday.....so...I settle for the one day a week...Sunday...when I can make believe that I am Rita Hayworth..and I can dress as feminine and as fashionable as I want. I still have to chase around my two-year-old..I still go a million miles an hour all day...but for one day...for the sake of fashion and make believe...it's worth every minute.
